Spider

Spider,
spin your web for me.
Fold me in silken cords
hammock-like
beneath the stars.

Swing me out over water –
feel the rush –
mother’s blood
warmth of womb,
beating heart.

Gird me to the earth,
silver strands,
lissome in the wind.
Let me climb,
quench my thirst
on sun-speckled dew
and truth of morning.
