Youth Voices for Nature

Launching in the Fall of 2023!

Youth Voices for Nature is a Tiny Seed Press initiative we will launch in 2023 that provides youth the opportunity to create their own nature-inspired writing, poetry, and art. This project will partner with public libraries to encourage children and young adults to connect with nature. In addition, we will offer an internship program for young adults interested in learning about the editorial process so they can develop publication skills.

By publishing youth voices for nature, we will inspire future generations to conserve our natural world.

Mission Statement: We support youth voices for nature by creating a welcoming and professional publishing press that empowers, inspires, and educates young writers and artists to reflect on and share their appreciation and wonder of the natural world.

Values Statement: We value inclusivity by honoring every individual and their various ways of expressing their appreciation of nature.

Programs

Snail Mail Nature Trail – Ages 3-11

In a time when everything seems fast-paced, we invite children to slow down….to a snail’s pace! In the spirit of the snail, we encourage participants to be unhurried and thoughtful in creating nature poetry and artwork.

Wise Fox Letterbox – Ages 12-17

We encourage participants to connect with nature through their poetry and photography  – and share it with the world! By publishing and showcasing nature poetry, and photography from young adults, we hope to inspire future generations to conserve our natural world.

Literary Owl – Ages 18-24

Connecting with nature is crucial in this fast-paced world that we live in… it helps us to slow down, be mindful, and tap into our creative side. By publishing and showcasing nature poetry and artwork from young adults, we hope to inspire future generations to conserve our natural world.

Literary Owl Internship – Ages 18-24

Tiny Seed Press seeks creative applicants with an eagerness to take the initiative, a passion for nature, nature writing, and photography, and an interest in learning about the editorial process at an independent press.
