Super-Sweet Peach

Blossoms in May,

fruiting in June.

 

You shade the backyard.

You flirt with the squirrels.

You nourish the groundhogs.

 

Shrouded in netting, yet still you are pillaged,

and all that remains

are pits underfoot.
