Cannon Beach

Volcanic blue
advances.
Salt lace tatters
the hair
of a wakening giant.
Twig birds
pick the shallows,
glassy sand melting
under their feet.
The beach braces,
as the sea
throws all
its crystal chandeliers
at once.
