Windswept Verses #12

In a sugar-green valley I will wake
to panes of glass that seal the sky
ridges of jagged teeth will teeter in the sea
and in the east one vaporous peak reside
cloud-fleets will ring the horizon: radiating light
and in their center a vital-green isle will rise
my companions’ll ask: how many days ago we came
and I will only say: I think I’ve been here always
