One afternoon at the
million-bells which hang
at the corner of the deck
he appears for a fleeting
instant an apparition of
inconceivable beauty
thimble-sized seraph
gorget ablaze like armor
darting from trumpet to
trumpet then entirely
completely gone and I am
left to ponder if such
an astonishing creature
really exists or was it just
the fantasy of a mind
starved for beauty and wonder?
