Go There

Landscape sun trees path

go there

there is nothing left
but
torn wrappings

the smiles
have faded
the hoopla
has changed
the fire burned out
the ashes
are cold

there is nothing left
…………………….. to say

don’t go there
don’t go there
don’t go there
anymore

pain left
when the knife
was placed back in the drawer

don’t go there
don’t go there
don’t go there
anymore

the sun rose
a new day
a new outlook
so many fresh ways

paths
lined with flowers
striving for the light
their fight
to battle
off the rain drops
but the rain drops
give them life

a subtle balance
between
death & breath
a uniqueness
that each
eventually tests

we go there
in our absent mind
we go there
just to spend time
wondering
pondering
marveling
at fate

we go there
trying
to exercise
the weights
of confusion

to break
illusions

we go there
to find
solitude

in that space
graced
only by you
in that place
that is less confused

a breath
for freedom
is expelled

for in that breath
you find
your soul

go there
