As if a bright blue planet
were just being born,
a steaming, churning, bubble
rises suddenly to burst in the
sky with a surprising force
that blocks out the sun for a
moment or two in a dense
plume of steam gently falling
down to a wet, grey ground,
only to erupt once again.
*Strokkur is Icelandic for churn
