Sudden Sunset

Shallow focus photo of dandelion

In a sudden sunset forest
In a certain glow of light
The last rays of day
Cast their colorful fire
We watch the deepening
The layers of orange upon orange
The tapestry of trees
Weaving in and out of the
Momentary bright
And if only i could capture this vast ember
Into my palm and with pursed lips
Blow on the coal of the sun
And beg it to remain
Here
Cleft in my hand like some forgotten memory
A vibrant seed
Of beauty neverending
