Poem and Illustrations by Carol Wolfe

I am an American now living in Dijon, France. After graduating from Drew University with a BA in studio art, I began working as a professional puppeteer, freelance artist and an assistant to the director of the Washington Dolls’ House and Toy Museum. I also taught English both in the US and in France to all ages, but predominantly in preschool and elementary classes. After taking a class in writing books for children with author Jane Yolen, I wrote, ( under my name at the time Carol Coombs), The Four Sisters which was published in “Cricket Magazine”. I also have had two stories published in the “Tiny Seeds Literary Journal” and some of my illustrations published in “Once Upon a Time”. After moving to France, I volunteered at Les Doigts Qui Rêvent (Dreaming Fingers) which is an association that produces tactile books for the blind. While there I was honored to be asked to write and create a “unique” tactile book for an orphanage in Madagascar. I love creating art, stories and picture books with a bit of whimsy and a “twist”. Many of my stories and paintings deal with endangered species.
