I want the wind to caress
my every petal now that
I’ve woken, wish I could
fly myself away as if I were
born with angel wings so
I may see where all the
spring waters flow under
the arched wooden bridge,
let the sun stroke me with
its early morning light; me,
a damsel wanting the gifts
from the heavens, yearning
to be plucked from the earth
by a gentleman’s hand. Oh,
what a perfect daydream;
I’d spill over with joy, tears
on my petals and stem if
it were a reality.
