Snowdrop Boogie

white flower in tilt shift lens

Overhead the great cosmic waltz plays,

Orion and The Bear turn a lazy two-step,

hard earth beneath,

A wind that tattoos Scandinavia

But still we rise.

Come for me when the mist falls down,

and I stand unbroken.

Through the ice and the fallen snow.

I come as the Christmas lights switch off

and break out of winter’s frozen arms.

There I stand, amongst my kin and kind,

the first flowers of winter, we welcome spring.

Under the winter skies, where stars shine on,

and that great cosmic waltz takes off again.
