Wild as I Am

nature summer sun purple

Pistil stamen pollen petal
Stem and leaf and shallow roots.
Wild as I am you name me.
What use have I
for your words or poetry?
All I need is
Wind and bird and the leg
Of your pants
to carry on.
I go when I feel like going.
I bloom when there is sun.

Poem by Julia Klatt Singer
