Voyage of the Young Blue jay

bird blue animals birds
The young jay will soon leave the nest
Leaving behind his grasp of comfort and safety
Entering into the unknown ambition and wonder

Of far-reaching adventure
He'll take off in the summer
While in the unrelenting heat
Buds of sunflowers blooming
Taking refuge here and there in the sweet shade
His hunt for friends will be evasive
But soon he'll come to find

The same fellows traversing through canopies and meadows
Joining together in a melody as sound as the autumn's red leaves

There will be the tiring days
With gusts of furious winds
But with ambition anchored in patience
He will politely listen and wait for his moment to come

There will be crimson sunsets
Where the jay will roll by thickets of tangerines
The sweet perfume lulling him to calmness
On much needed days of rest
He'll soar above the understories of his childhood
Into the baby blue sea with cotton candy clouds
Alongside the ebb and flow of sapphires
Through the gentle rolling hills and sturdy earthen plains

He'll know in his heart
When he finds his new home
With the new friends he made
He will settle down on a trusty branch
And start a new life of his own
