Now and then, a perfect wind kicks up
filling our sails, giving a powerful boost,
allowing us to ride higher in the water
toward a brighter, charged horizon.
That’s when we turn our attention
to a steadier hold on the tiller,
because the impact of even a fleeting
upswing can at times astonish us
to the point of capsizing our vessel.
And sometimes,
sometimes for a long time,
sometimes for always,
our course and the way we follow it
changes dramatically.
Transformation happens.

I have loved words all my life, to me writing is happiness. I want to write beautiful, plain-spoken poems that will move me to tears as I clap my hands in joy and, I want my reader to weep along with me as the words spill into the space between us. I want my writing life to be an act of art, all the way to the end.
