water drop
my body is seventy percent you
yet i am flooded by the
enormity of the ocean, forgetting
that it is closer in composition
to my own particulate fluid,
until i taste my tears, unlike the
fresh water i drink

to be composed of it would
shrink my cells to uninflated
folds of their former selves

the water outside is the water within
flows through the world
flows through me
students take traffic as a precursor to fluid dynamics
water makes more sense than people

i am one small drop
