AFTER THE FLOOD

gray black and orange duck swimming on body of water
There was a small hollow
in the far corner of the yard.
In this year, when rain
imagines itself Biblical
and the sky has split open
like a gourd of tears,
it is overfilled with rain.
Two ducks have arrived
and declared it a pond.
