The Awakening

When you search for life
but see not the vast network.
When you seek intelligence
above where you are standing.
When no chemical heals you
yet despise foraging in the wild.
When you fear the largest
and see not the death in small.

When source of life is regarded
with prayers to the ground.
When honouring the spirits
after a psychedelic experience.
When you envision a woman
fertile with a rounded belly.
When you see life growing
from debris and decay of labour.
When you meet the inner knowing
we will come to your awakening.

As mushrooms.
