Do not bury me

Poem and Picture by Deenaz Coachbuilder

I am an educator, poet, artist, environmental advocate, wife, mother and doting grandmother. My books of poems, Imperfect Fragments, and Metal Horse and Shadows have been received with international acclaim, with essays, commentaries and poems published widely in journals and anthologies. I am also the language editor for the Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of North America Journal (FEZANA). I was a participant in the recent Parliament of World’s religions, with a 45 minute presentation of my writings on October 17th. 2021. I believe in committing my time, energy and support in areas important for my community, working closely with Inlandia Institute, a non profit that celebrates the region in word, image and sound. I reside in Riverside California and Seattle, Washington, and until Covid, spent time in my country of birth, India.
