the shyness of the crown

Worms eyeview of green trees

with thanks to carly and her garden

“crown shyness is a phenomenon in which treetops reach closely to one another but do not touch, forming room to share light and grow in harmony.”

look up
my soul is kin to yours
see how our branches sway
together

rooted in same earth
and yet distinct, leaves blown
by shared breezes where we neither
avoid nor invade

this sacred space between
like sky-lungs breathing
that becomes at once your light,
mine, and

ours
