Moss Campion

in love with the lichen
       orange granite rash
she blooms in the knot
of parched soil packed
      into cracked stone
near the peak
near the sun
she and her sisters
      in pink
watching the dog pass
yellow like the clear sun
turning as the girl calls
dirt around her ankles
      sweat and light and
pink in the cheeks
      like the sisters
she kneels to meet
warding off her sun dog
