Creek

time lapse photo of river
Rushes of crips water
Dance through my fingertips
(droplets from the clouds
That happen to land here
On this stone-covered ground)

My toes kiss the creek-bed
Eyes gently close - a breathe -
Birds sing in the distance
Summoning the sun to shine
Through the grey-coated sky

What is it about time
(troubled or otherwise)
That somehow quickly slows
When my body is tamed
Within nature’s flowing veins?
