Nights like this

full moon through bare winter trees
I stand in the full moon night
I think I see you
or maybe your fleeting shadow
gone in the blink of an eye.

The moon is blinding tonight,
Trees stand tall with an ethereal glow,
winter branches knotted against the sky,
blissfully unaware of your existence.

I stand in the full moon light,
basking in its timeless might
willing it to sink in, sending a silent plea,
to the one above, of the eternal night.
