The Four Directions

East
Dawn ushers in spring
robin songs wake Earth’s sleepers
run to red dusk, Go

South
Breathe in summer air
accept balance from
long light
run with Deer heart, Go

West
autumn afternoon
water
soothes our sacrifice
tread lightly home, Go

North
winter evening
fire brings prayer
and patience
I have arrived, home.
